Average Rating: Rating: - MSDN's Universal Level Subscription This is a good product to stay current with Microsoft releases and their developer tools such as Visual Interdev which is now Visual Studio .NET. MSDN Universal level subscription contains all of Microsoft's Operating Systems and programming languages, e.g., Visual Studio .NET, C# (pronouned C Sharp), etc. What others have neglected to point out is that it is now a subscription from Microsoft that runs for one year with monthly updates on either CD-ROM or DVD's. It is more manageable on DVD than CD. Rating: - Awesome software value An excellent value for everything you get. Fot the reviewer that asked why the price goes up, it costs more to produce every year...just like cars, bread, coffee, etc. Why does your pay go up every year? Rating: - Can't do without it I can't imagine trying to do Windows development without the full Universal subscription. This is what separates the professionals from the amateurs. People complain about the expense, but then they happily endure the expense of NOT having it - namely, contracting a well-equipped professional (me) to do their development for them. I leverage the MSDN into many times its initial cost year after year...even when working on strictly Unix projects. The Microsoft customer service is excellent...even when you are a difficult customer that wants versions of things in Arabic, Japanese, Portuguese, and Basque.
